Some people graduate from law school and get really high paying jobs. I started a coupon blog instead.

Wardrobe Wednesday

I love Old Navy!  And today is one of the many reasons why.  Today only, enter code ONWINTER at checkout to get 30 percent off any purchase.  Clearance included.  If you have a Gap, Banana Republic, or Old Navy card, make the deal even sweeter by entering MYCARD to get free shipping on a purchase over $50.  If you have a silver card, get free shipping with ANY purchase.  I keep my Gap card around just for this purpose!

I found this adorable pair of jeans that would be so cute with some little flats during the warm winter here in Florida:
For only 13.97!  After the 30 percent discount, this comes out to 9.78!  If you have free shipping, this is a great deal for a cute pair of jeans!

Don't forget to go through ebates for 2 percent cash back on your Old Navy purchase (If you're not already a member, go here to sign up)!
Come back and let me know what you find.

(If you can't find 50 dollars worth of deals and you aren't excited about paying shipping, there will be a 30 percent off in-store coupon for the Veteran's day weekend...check back next week for more details)!

More Meals Monday

So this is a little late and not a great way to start out my blog I guess, but it's been one of those weeks.  Better later than never, right?

So today's meal is super simple and great for the fall season.  It will really put you in the mood for Thanksgiving (and if you're in Florida, like me, it's the only thing that will put you in the mood, since we're still hovering around 80 degrees).

You may have the ingredients for this meal in your stockpile already, but here they are with the best prices this week:

- Chicken (3 cups, any kind is fine...chicken breasts, whole chicken, it's your call)
- 1 can of green beans
  • Publix has Green Giant BOGO (1.29) starting 11/4.  Use the .50/2 from 10/24 SS to make your green beans .40 per can
  • Dollar General has Libby's veggies priced at .45 cents per can.  There was a coupon on coupons.com earlier this week for $1.00/3 making them only 12 cents each if you got the coupon.
  • Wal-Mart has Del Monte vegetables priced at .60 cents this week.  Use the 9/19 RP $1/5 coupon to get them for .40 per can
- 1 box of stuffing
  • Target has Stove Top on sale for $1.  There is a .50/2 Target coupon here and a 1.00/2 Manufacturers coupon here.  This makes stuffing .25 per box when you buy 2
-  1 can cream of chicken soup
  • Not aware of any sales on cooking soups this week.  Grab one for your stockpile or use the 1.50/3 coupon here to get a pretty good deal
- 1 cup shredded cheese
  • Publix has Kraft block cheese on sale 2/$5 starting 11/4.  Use the $5/5 coupon found here. You may be able to use the $1/2 Target coupon here, if your store accepts Publix as a competitor.  Your cheese will be 1.20 to 1.50 a block depending on your store.
So, once you have your ingredients.....

- Cube cooked chicken
- Mix chicken, soup and greenbeans
- Prepare stuffing according to directions
- Put chicken mixture in a greased 9x13 baking dish.  Top with stuffing and cheese.
- Bake for 25 minutes, covered, at 375

Your grand total for this meal if you don't have any ingredients on hand will be 4.15- 5.25 (depending on the cost of your chicken and cheese).  It should make 6 good sized servings.  I'll be serving mine with some crusty rolls.  YUM!

Disclaimer: I have not tried this meal yet and am making it tonight!  I'll post a review tomorrow!

HAPPY EATING!

UPDATE:  This was absolutely delicious and SO SO simple!  I would have taken a picture for you, but it disappeared too quickly!  I found it worked better in a 9 x 9 pan and only fed 4 with our hungry crowd.  If you are feeding more than 4 adults, I would double.

Hello fellow couponers!

I just wanted to give you a little insight into what you can expect on this blog- of course, the basics, new coupons, coupon match ups, awesome deals, but maybe a little extra.

Here are a couple of things that might make my blog different (you might like it more or less because of these things):
THINGS YOU WON'T SEE:
- I don't have babies, therefore, while I am excited for others who do have babies and get great deals on diapers and baby products and the like, I will not be posting that.  The benefit of not having children is that I spend 0 percent of my time thinking about diapers, and I plan on keeping it that way.
- I won't post any local deals.  Pretty much no one lives in Northeast Florida anyway, so there should be no disappointment there.

THINGS YOU WILL SEE:
- Matchups for different levels of couponers- if you only want matchups of coupons that are still available and print online, I'll have it.  If you are super intense (like myself) and want match ups with super obscure coupons that you had to mail away to get we'll have that too
- Other non-coupon money saving ideas.  Sometimes you just don't have a coupon, and I'll try and broaden my money saving horizon a little
- Daily to do lists- instead of having to scroll through pages and pages of deals, I'll post the best deals for you to take advantage of in one post at the end of the day
-  Weekly Features, including:
  • More Meals Mondays--- so 6 things of cream cheese for 1.00 is great, but not if you don't know what to do with it.  I'll take the recent deals and make them into actual meals that are a little more interesting...breakfast, lunch AND dinner...and maybe even dessert
  • Wardrobe Wednesdays-- cheap food is great and all, but cheap clothes are even better.  Couponing and deal seeking is about great deals on clothes, shoes and accessories too!
  • Tag-along Thursday- where I'll go through one of my transactions for the week step by step
  • Future Fridays- deals to get you ready for things that are coming up- Halloween, Christmas, Birthdays...so you can be ready early with extra money in your pocket
